Play Therapy for Children (Ages 3-11)
When words aren’t enough, children often express themselves through play. In play therapy, your child can explore their feelings and experiences in a way that feels natural to them. I create a safe, nurturing environment where they can feel free to communicate through toys, games, and art, this will make sense of their world one piece at a time.
A young child struggling with fear or confusion can create stories, build worlds, and, in their own way, tell us what they’re going through. Whether they’re facing:
- Anxiety & Fears: We’ll create a space where they can work through their fears, finding courage through their play along with building their coping skills.
- Bullying: Through creative expression, your child can process their experiences with bullying and build the confidence to stand strong.
- Trauma & Loss: Play offers a gentle way for children to express and heal from painful experiences, helping them rebuild their emotional strength.
- Social Skills: These playful sessions will teach important lessons. Through guided activities, your child will learn how to communicate, share, and develop empathy.
In every session, your child’s play leads the way, guiding us toward understanding and helping them find the tools to cope and move forward.
Family Therapy
Family life can be both a source of comfort and, at times, frustration. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, communication breaks down, conflict rises, or a family member feels disconnected. Family therapy offers a way to repair these bonds. This will help you get back to a place of understanding and connection.
You can again become a family, around a dinner table, each person wanting to be heard but no one really listening. Therapy provides the opportunity to rebuild that bridge. You will get a home where everyone’s voice matters. We’ll work on:
- Communication Challenges: It’s easy for misunderstandings to build. We’ll create a space where everyone can speak openly and listen more deeply.
- Conflict Resolution: Disagreements happen, but through therapy, we can learn ways to navigate these conflicts with respect and empathy.
- Parenting Support: Raising children comes with challenges. We’ll explore tools to understand and guide your child’s behavior in ways that nurture their growth.
- Life Transitions: Big changes can shake the family dynamic. Therapy helps you face these transitions together, stronger and more connected.
Together, we’ll find new ways to create a supportive, loving environment for everyone in the family.
Parent-Child Therapy
The relationship between a parent and child is one of the most important bonds in life, but it’s not always easy to maintain that connection. Parent-child therapy (Child-Parent Relationship Therapy or CPRT) helps rebuild and strengthen this relationship, especially when behavioral or emotional struggles are involved.
You will be able to understand what your child is feeling and needing, even when their actions seem confusing or frustrating. Through CPRT, I’ll guide you and your child toward:
- Strengthening Emotional Bonds: 30-minute uninterrupted play sessions with you and your child so you can rebuild trust and closeness with your child.
- Behavioral Guidance: We’ll work on understanding your child’s behavior and finding effective ways to respond with love and consistency.
- Enhanced Communication: You’ll learn skills to open, honest conversations, this will help your child feel heard and understood.
We will create a nurturing space where the bond between you and your child will be rebuilt.
At Owl Counseling Services, I also provide Parenting Support through Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), Family Therapy, and therapy. Each service is designed to meet you where you are and help you move toward the emotional well-being you deserve.

Individual Therapy
Life can feel overwhelming at times, leaving you stuck, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward. Maybe you’re struggling with stress, feeling lost, or weighed down by emotions that are hard to understand. Individual therapy offers a quiet, safe space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re a child, adolescent, or adult, I’m here to help you face life’s challenges with empathy and support.
You will get a place where you can simply be yourself without judgment. We’ll work together to know what’s been holding you back and develop strategies to help you move forward, whether that’s:
- Anxiety: From racing thoughts to constant worry, together, we’ll get to know what’s behind your anxiety and find ways to regain control.
- Depression: When the world feels heavy and motivation is hard to find, we’ll explore your feelings, helping you to understand and manage them.
- Anger Management: If anger feels uncontrollable, we’ll find healthy ways to express and manage it, looking at what’s really going on underneath.
- Life Transitions: Life’s changes can throw us off balance. Whether it’s a new job, a loss, or a relationship shift, therapy provides the support you need to adjust.
- Trauma Recovery: The past doesn’t have to control your present. Together, we’ll work on healing and finding strength through the pain.
- Self-Esteem: Building confidence takes time. Through self-exploration and self-compassion, we’ll work on accepting who you are.
- Neurodivergent individuals: knowing and understanding that your brain or your child’s brain does not operate as others do is important. We will explore how your brain processes information and what you or your child needs in order to feel confident.
